Kauai Photo Trips
Here I am with Evelyn on a ledge which overlooks the Waimea Canyon. The reds are intense and are everywhere. I took many shots along the way and got some on the West side of the road. The difference is stunning. You'll know when you see it after you've been there.

I took a shot on my 4x5 about ten years ago which I still think is better than what I have taken recently so I don't have a canyon shot here.

The best I think was the "End of the Road" shot which is on the Optical Reflections page.

Here I am shooting the Canyon....windy that day.  And just around to the other side of the island is the beautiful Kilauea Point Lighthouse and the Wailua Falls.

It is literally at the end of the Waimea Canyon road....overlooking a 4,000 foot straight down drop. [click on small images to view larger ones]

Here is Evelyn sitting in a chair at our Kauai Beach Boy Hotel and watching the sun go down at the end of our trip. We were both exhausted. Walking 20 miles every couple of days is one thing but lugging 30 pounds of photo equipment at the same time is quite another issue. As I recall, we went through two six packs of bottled water each day. We were sweating so much I don't remember that the kidneys were working at all those days! 95 degrees and 90% humidity is a big drain on the bod...period.
